I bought this hoping to give to my Dad for his birthday, but after i looked thru it I realized it contained no real information about the name "wilson" in history other than some statistics about how many were drafted for WWI, etc. The text about immigrant life is completely generic (and i'm sure is the same in every book about every name). For $30, it's a ripoff. Customer Rating: Summary: Potential to be really cool... but not. Comment: I purchased this item for my boyfriend's family and read the book before I gave it to them. The idea seems really great. It would be really neat to learn about the origins of a family name. However, this book really is not as cool as it seemed like it would be. Lots of statistics on how many people with a given last name live in certain states during a given year, how many people with that last name do certain jobs during a given year, etc. Lots of obscure information that doesn't really offer any real information about the family's history.
