Summary: BATTAGLIA NAME IN HISTORY
Comment: The book is not completely accurate - I am a Battaglia. However, it is interesting and I bought 3 books to give as gifts. One went to Italy where the Battaglias originate and they were proud to see the family name on the cover.

I know that Ancestry can only do so much for each family name and I am happy to have the book.

They didn't mention the many miners who worked in Virginia City...many of my family members were miners. One died in a horrible fire in 1916, which made headlines, along with Felice Casale...who was only 21.

It would be better if Ancestry would ask for family history from the decendants...we could tell them our history!!

Many Italians were in Utica, New York, including Battaglias and I have yet to see that mentioned.

It is a good book and my family is very proud.
