Summary: Fun brainstorming guide to baby names
Comment: This is not the baby name book for you if you are looking for obscure etymylogical definitions of
unusual names. (Does it matter that Calvin means "bald" to anyone, anywhere, anymore?) However, if
you are looking for a book with a good mix of traditional, classic, modern and even "made-up" names,
especially if you are expecting baby #2 or more, then this is probably a good book for you. The
author groups names by type, sound, ethnicity, trendiness, all sorts of factors. The best part of
the book is the part where you can look up a name (such as of your first child) and then see the
suggestions for names for siblings that are harmonious with your first choice.

Summary: BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Comment: What a shame this is a great baby name book, but I bought two different copies at different times
and the spine of both COMPLETELY fell apart . (the books were carefully read and not abused) I don't
know if it was a bad production run at the print house ? Incredibly frustrating.

Summary: Very interesting
Comment: This book does not contain as many names as some other book or even traditional meaning, but it does
give useful information about each name. The auther gives auther gives information about the image
of the name. The information about the popularity of the name over the years is very good to know.

Summary: A Fun Reference
Comment: I bought this book because of the sibling name relationships the book offers. It lists possible
sibling names for the names it defines, and it groups the names into classes and trends. It's a fun
book to simply look up names in---it got 3 of my husband's sibling's names! I was pleased at how
good her research was, and although I didn't intend to use it to name a child (more as a research
tool for my students to use in a classroom project), I have loaned it to 2 separate families to help
them with their own baby naming strategy. I highly recommend the book!

Summary: Best Baby Name Book!
Comment: I love this book. I bought this for a friend who is pregnant and kept talking about it so much that
I had to go and buy myself a copy. The book has all the information anyone would want when naming
their baby and the best selection of names I have seen. It is also crazy how right on they are when
you check out the sibling names. Under my baby boys name they had my second choice boys name listed
under brothers and both my girls names under sisters. I brought this book out at my playgroup and it
freaked people out how right on the book is. The girl in our group who nursed for over a year read
the description for her babies name and it said "A favorite among breast feeding activist". This is
the only baby name book you will have to buy.
