Editorial Reviews:
OATHS SWORN . . . loyalties tested . . . forces collide. Following the colossal battle against the Empire’s warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still there is more at hand for the Rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep. First is Eragon’s oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran’s beloved, Katrina, from King Galbatorix’s clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength—as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices— choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice. Eragon is the greatest hope to rid the land of tyranny. Can this once-simple farm boy unite the rebel forces and defeat the king?

Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Book!Comment: A great contiuation of the series. We see all the old characters developed more and the introduction of a few more. I love getting inside the dwarven politics as the elect a new king. I also enjoy reading from Saphira's point of view more as she and Eragon spend time apart.Customer Rating: Summary: MUCH better than 'Eldest', MUCH more like 'Eragon'!!!Comment: 'Brisingr" is MUCH better written than 'Eldest'. Although I still feel that 'Eldest' was a good read, I felt 'Eldest' was written more by the editors, than by Paolini, so therefore, less of Paolini's "soul" came through. I was almost tempted to not buy 'Brisingr', but I decided to take the chance that Paolini would come into his own. I'm glad I did, because this book, 'Brisingr', seems to have MUCH more of Paolini's "soul", because it "flows" so much more like 'Eragon'. Way to go Paolini, for standing up for what you believe to be more creative writing! I'm proud of you! I'm really looking forward to your 4th book in this series! =)Customer Rating: Summary: Good BookComment: it is a good continuation to the other books. its only problem is that it is not the last book.Customer Rating: Summary: Thank You ReviewersComment: I think reading the reviews of Brisingr is better than slogging through the book! I loved reading the *spoilers* and am very happy to save money by not buying the book! Many of the reviews were a hoot!
Let's predict what will happen in Book 4: Eragon goes off with Arya to some eternal life Elf Land; Murtagh will come out from the evil spell Galbatorix put on him and he will once again be 'good' and marry Nasuada.
Maybe Roran will have to be King.
There, now I don't care how long it takes Paolini to write the 4th book.Customer Rating: Summary: A big ImprovementComment: Compared to P's last 2 books this one is a great improvement. A lot of the boring junk has been slimmed down. Although it could use more fight scenes the ones it does have are great. I'm kind of disappointed in the ending, it really was not what i thought it was going to be but it was still good.
If you've read his last two books you should read this one.
I can't wait to read his next book just so i can see how much his story telling and writing skills have improved
