Good job again

The book arrived in excellent condition and before the time promised. Except for the UPS
hassles(having to sign for delivery when I work on weekdays), everything went smooth.

One of my favorate books
Comment:
This book is a must for anyone who wants to lear about Roman history. A lot of people will tell you
the Romans were boring. Well thoes people are wrong, the Romans were awsome! And hear we have first
hand accounts of the first 12 Ceasers and all the crazy, peverted, murderous stuff they got up to.
And translated by Robert Graves no less! Read it, you'll be hard pressed to find a more interesting
book (And its way better than The Annals which is rubbish!)

Where else would you ever get this stuff?
Comment:
So little is known today about the Caesars, that Suetonius' tell-all book about the Caesars is an
absolute treasure for us to have now. Far from a dry, impartial observer, Suetonius errs on the
side of playing the gossip - a choice which gives you even more insight into the culture of the
Roman Empire than the text alone.
The book covers each of the twelve Caesars in order
and focuses in on their backgroung before becoming Caesar, their route to becoming Caesar, their
political/military/infrastructure accomplishments while Caesar, their personal habits, and finally
their universally untimely deaths. (These guys all got killed pretty darn quickly by their
"friends")
If it sounds like a dry topic, Suetonius over-emphasis on tabloid behaviors
of the Caesars keeps it from ever getting close to dull. Highly recommended even for those who
don't know the period.

A MUST !
Comment:
This book is a must have not only for those who have an interest in classical Rome but for anyone
attempting to understand current politics and the human condition. More approachable than Tacitus,
Suetonius could teach a thing or two to our modern day reporters. He dispassionately describes
events of classical Rome from multiple, often opposing perspectives. Far from being dry, Grave's
translation of Suetonius sparkles with vitality.

Summary:
A necessary read
Comment:
This book, as others have mentioned, is a classic. It relates the histories of Julius Caesar and
the first 11 emperors. Suetonius' bios focus on their personal lives and characteristics than most
other Roman historians, with numerous references to racy scandalous behaviour. It is an absolute
must read for Roman history, along with the likes of Livy, Tacitus, Plutarch, Ammianus, Dio etc.
