Summary: Too much Gotti
Comment: John Davis has definitely done his research. He is a good soty teller, and I will probably read more
of his books. My problem is with the title. It leads you to believe this book is about the Gambino
Family. Only the first 150 pages really talks about the previous bosses. The rest is about John
Gotti. I was looking into reading about the older bosses, but instead got another book about Mr.
Gotti. If you haven't read any of the books about Gotti, than this is a good buy for you, as you
will learn a little of the history about the Gambino Family, and then also get a book about Gotti.

Summary: i'll take a pass
Comment: lacks depth and detail in a lot of areas. It should have provided more on the early days of the
Gambino family in regards to such bosses as Mangano, Anastasia and especially Gambino. The book
deals largely with Castellano and to a greater extent Gotti, which have both been covered much
better in other books. essentially this is just a re-hash of many of those books. A lot of the
book is built on unconfirmed legend as opposed to documented facts as well. save your money on this
one.

Summary: excellent
Comment: this book is extremely informative about the Castellano and Gotti era, the only weak point is not
having enough information of the early days with Luciano, Mangano, Anastatia etc. this book taught
me everything i needed to know about organized crime in America.

Summary: Mafia Dynasty
Comment: This has been the best Mafia book I have read yet. The whole history of the Gambino family from how
and when Gambino's and the Gotti's arrived in the americas to Luciano's deportation to Sammy "the
Bulls"tetimony. A must for a mafia reader.
