A little thin, but not bad
Comment:
If you're looking for a reference book on Scottish names, this isn't the book for you. This book is more of a list of the most popular Scottish names that we all knew anyway. Not that that is horrible, but it isn't a reference book by any means. I will say that the book is laid out decently well (alphabetical order), but the male and female names are all mixed together, so, even though they are marked (m) and (f), it's still a little difficult to find a gender specific name.

Disappointing and not worth your time or money
Comment:
Seeking a name for your baby that reflects your Scots ancestry? This book does indeed list first names -- about 3 or 4 per PAGE, and you have to read through all the rambling gab to discover what the name means, or its history. Male and female names are mixed together rather than separated. As I've discovered, you are better off buying a Celtic baby name book that cuts to the chase and gives meanings and name variations according to gender.
